Christmas decoration

As I said, I wanted to upload some more pics of our decoration. :) I just made the Advent wreath. So here we go:

This is an advent calender, that my mother-in-law once made for Volker. Now Fynn is using it every year. :)

My first ATCs

Today I was busy again. In the morning I found two caches in the city and this morning (while Thordis was sleeping a bit) I made my first ATCs for ages. :) Saskia, my pal from Netherlands, and I want to exchange ATCs now and then. Our first two themes were "Rauhnächte" and "Geocaching". Hm, in my point of view, I think I wasn't creative enough, but what do you think? These are the ATCs:

And I also wanted to tell you where the cache was hidden at the weekend. Well, it was hidden under the knob. You could open a hole with it. ;) I think that was a lot of work to do. And in autumn I wouldn't say that this cache has the difficulty 2,5. It must have more.

Where is the cache?

A Letterbox
At the weekend we made a little geocaching tour in Hespe, Meerbeck and Stadthagen. We found some really nice places of which I didn't know that they exist. ;) Some caches were easy, some were very hard and I think the hardest ever we found on that weekend.

Where is the cache?

Maybe it wasn't that easy as it is autumn, but hey, we never had such a cache and who knows that sort of that is existing. We got finally help from my sister. ;) It was the Bonus of a tour we have made with team Gyldenale in July. I want to show you a pic here and you should please tell me, where we can find the cache. ;)

The other were quite easy. We found them very fast. For the next weekend I have to solve some more Mysteries, so that we can make a little tour again. Maybe we'll also have the time for a little multi.

Christmas preparations

In the last days we made some christmas preparations. :) Last weekend we made 8 different cookies. I'm happy that we didn't need so much time as in the last years. Normally we need more than 8 hours for all. Maybe I looked for easy cookies, I don't know. But we finished the last ones after 6 hours. That is a new record for us. Now you'll think, how will they eat all those cookies when Solveig makes a diet? I don't know. Really! Well, our parents get cookies and if we'll have guests for the christmas market in Hameln, they can eat them, too. :) Do you make christmas cookies? Which ones do you like most? I prefer the "Lebkuchen", but I never managed that they taste like the ones from the grocery market. :( Well, the best cookies are our "Basler Leckerli", but they are more like Lembas bread of the elves, you only need one piece for a day.. ;)

But I also decorated the flat a little bit. On the pic is not our Advent wreath. It is only a decoration. The Advent wreath we'll make this weekend with my sister. A pic will follow then. :)

New projects before new year?

Haha, yeah.. I started a new project one week ago and I hope I can stay the course.. Maybe you know what I mean.. It is very hard in the time before christmas.. cookies, christmas markets, nice food.. Well, I try to lose some weight. I try to eat lower fat and after 16 o'clock no carbohydrates. That isn't easy for me as I always ate rice, potatoes and noodles in the evening. Today I ate the chinese food without rice, sometimes I ate a salad.. Have you ever made a diet where you shouldn't eat carbohydrates in the evening. If so, what did you eat? Maybe you have some ideas for me...
And of course I started again to do sports. Mostly at home and especially for my back, but once a week I'm trying to go swimming with Fynn.

Another new (old) hobby came back to me. Soon I'll start to swap the first atcs for a long time. I already swapped them in 2006/2007. The pics that I post here today are from that time. Who else is swapping atcs? If you ever want to do a swap please tell me...

And I want to remind you of my competition.. Please feel free to join. You can also join if you are from oversea.

Geocaching on Halloween

Last weekend we were in Loccum and tried to find some caches. A cache that was there was called "Ghost town" and it looked like a ghost town. I never knew that there was a place like that. Maybe it was a childrens summer camp some years ago. Even if we needed a flashlight (and we had none with us) we found the cache. Sometime a camera is helpful.

Today we went geocaching again. We had very nice weather, cold, but sunny. We made the "Berkelwood" round near Hameln. All caches have something to do with movies. And every cache (all traditionals) had a question which you needed for the Bonus. Sadly we couldn't find every cache. :( But the round is really worth to see. The questions were all easy and all stations had great ideas.

Luckily I have a friend who gave me a hint for the Bonus, with that and the hint of the Bonus we found it. And I must say, it was the best cache I've ever found. :) I don't want to tell more, maybe someone want to look for that, too. But I'll add a picture. Maybe you know what it means, maybe you don't.

October impressions

Last weekend we had such a beautiful morning that I made some photos of the nature outside. It was very cold that morning.

Our first night cache

I forgot to post this cache. This was our first night cache and it was so nice. :) We made it with friends and my sister and her boyfriend. It was the night cache close to our home. We had great weather so it wasn't very cold.
We found every stage very easy except station 3. We seemed to look at the right place but couldn't find it. :( I was happy that the owner called me to tell us, that we would find the final without this station. I can say the way was really difficult. It had terrain 4 of 5 and it needed the 4. Sometimes there was an abyss close to the path, so every step had to made carefully. And some paths were very steeply and at some of these paths were muddy. Some of us fell badly. :( But we all made it to the final.

The final was great. There was a combination lock so not everyone can open it. We were proud to find our first night cache and I hope some more will follow. :) And I can say, that was my number 400.

Geocaching in the golden season

Hm, seems I forgot to post something lately. Like my penpalling and reading I have no time for a update of my blog. But here we go.
On the 3rd Oct (the National holiday in Germany) I went geocaching with Team Gyldenale. My boys were in cinema. We made a multi cache in Fischbeck. On the first km it was easy to make with a pram, but later it got really hard. Especially the way back, Ramon had to take the pram and I took Thordis to get back on the path. The multi lead us into a forest. I think it was the biggest cache I've ever found. It was hidden in the ground. You can see a little bit on the picture. Sadly we were surprised by a lot of rain on our way back. We got totally wet. :( But when the sun came out again we tried to find some more caches. :)

On another weekend we tried to do a multi in Tündern. But at both caches we had problems. :( At the first one we need a better UV lamp and at the other cache we couldn't find the station 2. At least we have found 2 traditionals on our way. Here is a rat where a cache was hidden. :) Normal for Hameln ;)

And this last weekend we were at friends near Kassel. As we don't have the souvenir for "Hessen" yet, we tried to find at least one cache. We made a trip to the Sababurg. It is the castle of sleeping beauty. ;) There is also a zoo where we could have made two multis. We took the shorter one. It was a nice little round and we have found it in the end. I was happy that the weather was good. The weather forecast said it should be worse. So we had a lot of luck. The other day we took a little walk in Ahnatal and found 3 more little cache. I'm getting nearer to the "400".. Only 2 caches left. ;)

Shared labels

Yesterday I decided to make some new selfmade labels. I wanted especially ones with one of my swappers. And today I made some with Anja, Karina, Anthi and Anja+Anthi. I really hope they'll like them. Here is a pic of them. I know you couldn't see it well. If anyone else is still interested in shared labels, tell me. I'd love to make some.

Fairytale geocaching

Last week I made a really nice tour with Yvonne and Fynn near Afferde. It was a fairytale round and every cache had something to do with a fairytale. It was the first time that Yvonne was geocaching and I really hope she'll make it again one day. The tour was great. The owner had made all caches very beautiful. In my opinion the "Sleeping beauty" cache was the nicest. But there were also Frog king, 7 dwarfs (which was funny to see), Rapunzel and a lot other.. :) I also liked the border stone to the fairytale land which they made themself. :) This tour is mostly for families and the kids will have a lot of fun.

A weekend back in medieval times

This last weekend we were in Selb/Bavaria on a medieval festival. It was my first festival ever. I got the tickets for our 11th anniversary of Volker & me. :D We drove there with Fynn and we slept in the camper.
Triakel
On Friday we wanted to see Triakel. They are from Sweden. Emma, the singer, is from the band Garmarna and we are listening to both bands for a long time. So it was great to see them for the first time on this festival. :) We (Fynn and me) made a pic with the band. :) Fynn is still very proud of it.

Our dress on Sunday
Our dress on Saturday
Faun

There were a lot of bands playing on the weekend, like Faun, Stellamara, Schandmaul, Spiritual Season, Schelmish,... We saw all of our fave bands and found also some new bands, like Spiritual Season. They make great music. :) I liked to see Pampatut who were really funny. And it was also funny to see some guys playing "Kohlball". ;)
It was nice to see some new stalls on the festival, not always the same that we see here in the North. :) We also bought a nice wooden "Chalice-fountain".

Kohlball
Oh, and the food was great. I forgot to make a pic of some food, but everything was delicious: Schupfnudeln with mushrooms, Falaffel, hamp flatbread and a  lot more. And I drank some cherry beer. :)
Sadly we had to drive home after the Schelmish concert on Sunday, so we couldn't see Omnia. :( That concert I wanted to see so much, but my son had to go back to school on Monday, so we drove home.

After this weekend we have a lot of plans for our own medieval camp. We want to make furnitures, a tent and everything else we need. ;) If anybody is interested in joining us with that, you are welcome. :) We always look for people to start a camp with..
